As a Licensed Massage Therapist, my goal is to create a professional, and calming atmosphere where clients can achieve a deep sense of relaxation. My intention is to reduce stress, decrease pain, increase range of motion, and increase an overall sense of well being.
I custom tailor the massage session to benefit you the most. 60 minutes to yourself can make a difference in how you feel! Take a mini vacation today!
I am Licensed in both South Carolina and Ohio. The standards are very high to achieve NCTMB certification for licensure in South Carolina, and Ohio is the only state where Massage Therapy is governed by the Medical Board, therefore Licensed Massage Therapists are required to learn the same Anatomy and Physiology that Doctors in Residency learn.
I participated in community outreach at Shriners Hospital Burn unit for Children in Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently in South Carolina, I donate time regularly giving Reiki and Massage sessions to cancer patients, pre/post surgery patients, and children surviving burns. Giving back freely is the most rewarding part of my work.
The curriculum at Shi Medical Massage Therapy School I attended from October 2005-April 2007 includes: Human Anatomy and Physiology, Systemic Pathology, Structural Pathology, Swedish Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Myoneural Therapy, Muscle Energy Concepts, Positional Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Therapy, Professional Ethics, Hydrotherapy and Thermal Modalities, Business Practices, Ohio Law, Outreach experiences at a variety of sites, and Student Clinic. Since Ohio is governed by the Medical Board the application process is very strict, the testing is very rigorous, and the two tests given are only offered twice a year. 220 questions are given and both tests have to be passed before licensure is received. South Carolina has reciprocity with Ohio.
I am honored I had the opportunity to attend Shi Medical Massage School in Ohio, as we have one of the highest pass rates in the State, the faculty are excellent, and the school's focus has always been of a holistic perspective towards health and well being. I miss them greatly but I don't miss the weather. My Family is originally from South Carolina so I feel Like I have finally come home.
